I’ve Eaten Too Many Biscuits

Custard Creams, Chocolate Digestives, Chocolate Caramel Digestives. I’ve eaten too many, I’d love to know what your favourite is though?

Anyway, lets put the poll and the biscuits to one side, to be honest I’ve eaten too many over the past year, I haven’t been running and this is my first blog in I don’t know how many months. Now it’s time for me to put the biscuit tin away and start my running, tweeting and blogging again.

This morning I went for my first run in 10 months or so, I managed an amazing 5k, that’s 3.1 miles in case you didn’t know. It was tough and I found my heart rate to be in the threshold zone most of the time. I was puffing and panting but I did it because I believed in myself. In fact, I could have run 10 miles straight off, it’s simply a case of believing you can do something at the click of a button. Away from the running, I’ve actually just signed up to a drama group in my village, we’re doing Camelot as a production and I haven’t been on stage for years.

Believe

This is a huge example of how I believe in myself, I believed I can get up on stage and perform even though it’s been years since I was on stage, because I have self-belief. If you have this, your a step ahead in your running journey. It’s terrifying, joining a group when you don’t know anyone, especially when you have Aspergers. In fact, I’m going to write a full blog on my journey with my drama group next week.

Look Forward, Not Back

Whilst running I was thinking to myself, “why can I only run at 11 minute pace?”. In fact I used to run at an average of 7.30 per minute pace, but I’ve put on weight and now I must concentrate on looking forward, not back. Back is the past, you can’t change the past, no matter how hard you try, the past is the past, I must look forward and think how can I start to lose weight, cutting out the biscuits will certainly help for one. One thing I’m looking at doing, is joining a gym to focus on my cross training and start losing weight that way. In fact, this is a chance for me to start runningwithdan all over again, in fact that’s got a good ring to it.
